Our sweet precious Brookie went to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 30th.

Brook was a cherished daughter to Mike and Jessica (nee Fleming) Nadjiwon. She was a treasured younger sister and best friend to Heidi, and a caring nurturing big sister to Willa, Silas and Flint. Brook was incredibly close with her family and she lived a wonderful lifetime of memories in 7 short years.

Brookie was known for her beautiful smile and bright eyes. She had an infectious love for life and a great sense of humour. She loved playing the piano, animals, reading, four wheeling, onesie pajamas, her stuffy bunny “Hoppers”, growing plants, creating with Lego and being outside on the farm with her family. Brook was incredibly talented, creative and artistic. She began taking piano lessons this past fall and it was immediately obvious that she had a natural gift. Brookie couldn’t pass by the piano in her home without being drawn to sit down and play. Her beautiful music will be missed. She loved life on the farm - planting blackberries with her mom, caring for her guinea pigs and kittens, climbing trees with her siblings, helping out in the garden and at the veggie stand. She was part of 4H Cloverbuds and had many wonderful friends including her two best friends Penny and Lexi.

Brook’s grandparents Bernie "Papa" and Janine "Grammy" Nadjiwon and Denzil "Papa" and Beth "Nana" Fleming loved her very much. She was like a daughter to Uncle Jonathan "JJ" and Auntie Marney "Mimi" Stewart and a beloved niece to Phil and Deanna Nadjiwon, Tim and Vanessa Nadjiwon and Jordan and Chelsey Fleming. She will be fondly remembered by her great grandmas Grace Aelick "GG" and Janet Fleming. She loved spending time with her cousins Darcie, Cara, Hannah, Asher, Sarah, Julia, Rachel, Ben, Isaac, Nathalie, William and Valarey. Brook will be missed by her family, community, friends and neighbours.

Brookie was a vivacious smiley girl who brightened our lives every day and we would ask those attending the funeral that you wear bright cheerful colours as we remember our happy Brookie who celebrated life to the full every day. Wildflowers or an arrangement from your garden would be preferred over store bought bouquets.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Matthews Memorial Hospital, we appreciate you and all you do.

A Celebration of Brook’s life will be held at the St. Joseph Island Free Methodist Church (1589 Hilton Road) on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024. Visitation from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Musa Daba officiating. Interment following at Richards Landing Cemetery (10th Side Rd). Cookies and coffee will be served during the visitation. Donations may be made in Brook’s honour toward the Brook Nadjiwon Memorial Fund at AlgomaTrad.ca, a registered charity on St. Joseph Island, (payable by cheque or online) that will help other students discover and grow their love for music like Brook had.

Brookie, we will miss holding your hand, your hugs, your laugh, music, stories, artwork creations, love and joy. We know life will never be the same without you here but we’re so glad you’re with Jesus and playing one of your songs for Him.
