July 9, 1932 – August 17, 2024

With heavy hearts and great sorrow, the family wishes to announce the passing of Les, age 92. He is joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 66 years, Stasia (nee Dumas) (d.2023). Kind and loving father of Brian Muldoon and Debbie Solomon (late Alex). Proud Grandpa of Brandi (Randy), Victor (Jessica), Christopher and Adam. Great Grandpa of Jakob, Markus, Lukas, Jakson, Parker, Beau, Scotia, Arlo and Maggie. Dear brother of Shirley Smith (late Dick), the late Ken Muldoon (late Laura) and Elinor Pierre (late Dan, late Bob). Deeply missed by Geno and Peggy Solomon. Special Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Adam and Myrtle Muldoon. Special companion to his feline friend Misshe.

Les was born in Sault Ste. Marie and spent his early years in Spanish. He met the love of his life and soon to be wife Stasia at KVP Logging (West Branch). He and Stasia made their home in Spanish where together they raised their 2 children. He worked in the logging industry his whole career transferring from West Branch to Nairn Centre to be closer to his family and home.

Les loved time at the cottage, boating, hunting, fishing, snowmachining, reading western books, quiet early mornings and dancing with his beloved Stasia. He was musically inclined and enjoyed playing his guitar, accordion, piano and mouth organ. He was a terrific yodeller and whistler. Les was a poet, writing beautiful poems for family members.

Les was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandpa and great grandpa. He was a cherished brother and uncle as well as a trusted friend and neighbour and we will forever miss his warmth and authenticity.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Algoma Manor for their impeccable and compassionate care during his time there. A special thank you to Dr. D. Hagan and the nurses at NSHN-Blind River for their kindness and support in his final days.

Donations in memory of Les can be made to the Algoma Manor Charitable Fund and are appreciated by the family.

Family and friends are invited to Les’s interment at Calvary Cemetery in Spanish beginning at 11am on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Following interment, a Celebration of Les’s life will be held at Debbie’s house, 123 Lakeside Avenue in Blind River.
