Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the age of 94.

Vera was a very strong woman who lived through the depression, two world wars, the fight for women's and civil rights. She was a woman with bold opinions and would tell it like it is....or the way she thought it was. Vera enjoyed life and always had a happy-go-lucky attitude. She was a proud member of the Royal Purple and volunteered for many years and was the best meatball maker for the spaghetti suppers. Also gave many years as "Momma Mitchell" to her many Bandette Girls. Vera had an artistic spirit which showed through in her Halloween costume rental business for quite some time. She loved her boiled dinner and sharing them with her family. She always found a reason to have a party as it gave her a reason to have family and friends over for a good time and laughs. Her number 1 sidekick was her late husband Glynn, they made a great team. They made the team bigger with the addition of their son Roy, daughter Marion (Rick) and brought into her loving family along the way Denise Boston-Talentino (Terry). Vera came from a big family with many brothers, sisters and her parents Bruno and Angelina Bumbacco. Her spirit and love for life will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She was always the life of the party and will be missed by many friends, members of the Lodge and especially her dear friends Bill Rhodes (late Kitty) and her 3 four legged grandkids, who loved her unconditionally, Lambeau, Lacy and Lopé.

A Celebration of Life for Vera will be held at the Elk's Hall (216 Bay St.) on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1 until 4 pm. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Mitchell family.
