It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mike, at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at the age of 79.
Loving husband of Anne for 52 years, and a role model and friend of his children, Paul (Carrie) and Tracy. He was a proud Grampy and playmate to his six grandchildren who he adored; Erin (Travis), Christopher, Emma, Jordan, Jack and Benjamin. Son of the late Jack and Norah Mingay, Mike brought his family to Canada from England in 1974. He continued his banking career with the Royal Bank which he served in a number of communities and positions.
Mike was a gentleman and a gentle man, unless it came to cards or golf, then he was a true competitor. He always gave of himself whether on the hospital board, ARCH or his church. He always found the good in everyone. Suffering from Alzheimers, he lost his voice but never gave up his love for music making up the words and later just humming. A special thank you to the staff of the F. J. Davey Home and the Sault Area Hospital for their care.
Memorial donations (payable by cheque) to ARCH would be appreciated. At the family's request, there will be a private family service at a later date.
