It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, father, and grandfather, Raymond Mills, at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the age of 91.

Ray was the devoted husband and best friend of Maebelle (née Nicholson) for over 69 years. He was a loving father to Lisa (Andy Friyia) and Nancy (Steve Porter) and a proud grandfather to Cole and Jillian Friyia and Reece and Sasha Porter. He was the son of the late Leslie and Ella Mills and a dear brother to the late Leslie (late Jean), late Helen Johnson (late Tom), late Arthur (late Marjorie), late Garnet (late Ethel), late Wilma Giles (late Jack), late Harold (Sky), and late Edgar (Dorothy). He was also a brother-in-law to the late Eileen Allen and the late Jean Wooley (late Charlie).  Ray will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Ray will be remembered for his exceptional work ethic, generous spirit, and passion for sports, particularly the Soo Greyhounds, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a longtime Rotarian, an enthusiastic gardener, a loyal friend, a business owner, and, above all, an incredibly proud family man. He often expressed that he had the perfect family, consisting of one wife (the true love of his life), two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.

To honour Ray’s remarkable life, a private celebration will take place at a later date.

In memory of Ray, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

As a token of sympathy, the family welcomes donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, Ontario.
