It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Addie (Adelard) Joseph Rosario Metivier at the age of 92 years on Sunday, January 15th, 2023 at Sault Area Hospital.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife and best friend of 28 years, Carrol. Loving father of Paul (Leanne), step-daughter Sherrie Power and predeceased by his step-son Clinton MacFarlane. Proud Grandfather to Makayla Legge (Devin), Vanessa, Hannah and Noah. Great-Grandfather to Lincoln and Cameron Legge.

Addie had one big passion in life, picking the strings of his steel guitar and entertaining any chance he could. He had a lot of friends in the music world and enjoyed every moment playing with them, especially his time playing with Fred Kent and the Northernaires & Don Discher and the Sundowners. Carol was his #1 fan at every concert he played. Addie was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching hockey, cheering on his favorite team; the Montreal Canadiens. During the summer months he enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He especially loved cooking his best catches for everyone to enjoy.

The family would like to express our sincerest thank you to the many PSWs, nurses and doctors on 3B at Sault Area Hospital. Your kindness during this difficult time did not go unnoticed.

As per Addie’s wishes, there will be no funeral held and cremation will take place. The family asks that you remember Addie with a good country tune. Addie adored any and all animals, therefore memorial contributions may be made to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society.  Celebration of life to be scheduled at a later time.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Metivier family.
