It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight McWhirter on Tuesday February 4th, 2025, at age 53. Dwight passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Sault Area Hospital after a 2-month battle with his health.
Dwight was faced with some life challenges and hardships over his short 53 years. You left early Dwight, and I know that you did not get a chance to finish some of the things that you wanted to, I wish you had that chance! You will always be in our hearts and thoughts. Find peace and love Dwight, you deserve every bit of it!
Dwight was predeceased by his father Royce McWhirter as well as his niece Aleksa McWhirter. He is survived by his mother Solange Leduc (nee Savage), daughter Skyler McWhirter, granddaughter Ezmé McWhirter-Pretty, son Dallas McWhirter, Grandson Luca McWhirter, niece Shanel McWhirter, brother Kevin McWhirter, sister-in-law MJ McWhirter, cousins Daryl, Lynn, Greg and Bill McWhirter, his uncle John Savage as well as many other aunts, uncles and other cousins.
Dwight was cremated on Monday February 10, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The family will have a private ceremony later in summer 2025 in Timmins.
