“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
Helen went to be with her Saviour with her daughter holding her hand. She joins her beloved late husband Ron, her adored twin sister Shirley Stewart and her dearly loved big brother Gerald Stewart and his incredible wife Doris.
She was mother to Richard McLeod and Lisa Taylor. Grandmother to Nathan Taylor (Amanada), Naomi Taylor (Sabrina), Brandon Taylor (Mary), Leslie McLeod (Misty) and James McLeod (Courtney). She was a proud great grandmother of ten.
Helen had many nieces and nephews that she spoke about fondly. She often spoke about how blessed she was to have Ron’s siblings continue to include her in their family get togethers after he had gone. Special thanks to Howard McLeod and Carol Campbell who stepped up and offered assistance in helping Helen when needed, after she moved to Pathways.
Helen will be remembered for her love for God and her love for people. She nurtured so many friendships and offered words of encouragement and prayer for so many. Her door was always open, and her table quickly set for as many as needed. You didn’t leave from a visit without a cup of coffee or tea and of course a sweet of some sort.
She had a special relationship with her Bible Study girls and loved each one. She will be missed by many.
A special thanks to all the nurses on 3B at Sault Area Hospitals. They were outstanding to say the least. Thank you, Irene, for your kindness and Roy for being so helpful and kind on that last day. Thank you, Dr. Bowen, for your genuine attention to making sure our mother was comfortable and pain free.
Please join her family at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, Sault Ste. Marie) on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A celebration of Helen’s life will be at Immanuel Baptist Church, Blind River on Thursday, April 25, 2024. A visitation with the family start at 10:00 am and a service at 12:00 pm. In Helen’s honour, memorial donation payable (by cheque or online) to Galilean Bible Camp or Immanuel Baptist Church, Blind River would be appreciated.
