December 28, 1932 - April 2, 2022

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear, sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, at 89 years of age.

Alberta is now up there happily cruising around with her partner and best friend, Percy Anderson aka Boxer.

Loving mother of the late Janice, Cathy (Bill), Brian (Cathy), Randy, Tracey (Rich), Lori and Lisa. Grandma “Bert” was deeply loved by 11 grand, 13 great and 1 great great grandchild, “may you grace another land with your sheer beauty, ruthlessness and strength” ….to the toughest Bird we know.

Alberta was born in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island and was the last surviving child of the late Charles and the late Elsie McLean (nee Luther). She is predeceased by her siblings Neil, Manly, Helen, Jean and John.

The family wishes to thank Donna of Care Partners, the staff at both SAH and NSHN Thessalon and Blind River sites as well as her many friends who shared their time with our mother.

At this time there are no services. A private gathering will take place at a later date but our doors are always open.

Legacy of Love

A wife, a mother, a grandma too this is the legacy we have from you. You taught us love and how to fight, you gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard to find, and in your heart, you were always kind.

You fought for us all in one way or another, not just as a wife, not just as a mother.

For all of us you gave your best, now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
