Passed away peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Sautrday, April 22, 2023 holding the hand of Charles, her beloved husband of 70 years. She was the cherished mother of Aileen (Christopher) and the late David (Cynthia and their son Richard) and the late Marji (Ari). Much loved Grandmother of Tyler, Viktoria (Sam), Sabrina (Erik), Callie, Heather and Allison, and special Great Grandmother of Anna and Henry. She loved and adored all of them.

Kathryn was born in Scotland and moved to Canada with her husband and young son in July of 1957. She loved Canada but she never gave up her fierce pride of her Scottish heritage. Kathryn spent many years as a favourite kindergarten teacher at Anna McCrea Public School doing what she loved. In her retirement she spent much of her time taking cruises and travelling the world with Charles, always bringing home many gifts for her grandchildren, magnets to decorate the fridge, amazing pictures and fantastic stories. She also enjoyed watching and supporting her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors, attending graduations, ceremonies, sporting events, recitals and many, many more.

Many thanks to the staff at Driftwood 2 at the FJ Davey Home for their four months of respectful care.

A private family gathering was held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522). Donations to the charity of your choice in Kathryn’s memory would be appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the McLaren family.

Charles and Kathryn had a long and loving life together. Her family is grateful to have had her in their lives for so many wonderful years.
