It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Chantal Yvonne McKinney (Ouellet), daughter of the late Lauraine Dube, and Maurice Ouellet. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmaman, aunt and friend. Chantal left this world on a sunny day, surrounded by the love of her family, at her favourite place—camp.

Chantal was born to be a beacon of love and joy, and she carried that spirit throughout her life. She shared a deep and enduring love with her devoted husband, Dave, who was her #1 partner in all of life’s adventures. She was his “cutie”. Chantal’s siblings, Danielle, and Denis (Kris) Ouellet cherished her as a friend and confidante.

As a mother to Jenny (James) and Kelly (Jeremy) Chantal was a pillar of strength and love. She was the perfect role model. Her role as a grandmaman brought her immense pride, and she doted on her grandchildren, Emma, Bella, Brie, Skye, and Elle with boundless affection.

Chantal adored all of her nieces and nephews Tammy (Bob), Geoff (Danie), David, Meaghan, Erin, Christian and has reunited with our angel Mikayla.

Her passion for life, fun, and humour was evident to all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those who helped and guided Chantal through this journey. Your support, care, and kindness were a source of great comfort and strength to her and to us. We are profoundly grateful for your presence in her life.

Chantal’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her radiant smile, her loving heart, her feisty spirit, and her sense of humour.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In honour of Chantal’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Society of Canada (payable online or by cheque), reflecting her courageous battle and the hope for a future without this disease.

Rest in peace, Chantal. You will always be our fashion diva and guiding star.
