MCFARLING, Bill (Edmund Charles)

On Tuesday, August 2, 2005 in the Palliative Care
Unit, Sault Area Hospitals; Bill McFarling (1920 - 2005). Beloved husband of the
late Maureen McFarling (1996). Loving Dad of the McFarling gang - Claranne (Sisters
of St. Joseph), Michael and Claudette, David and Darlene, Steve and Jean, Bill and
Sandra and James. Grandfather of the next generation of McFarlings - David and
Cara, Donald and Joanna, B.J. and Gina, Jake and Stacey, Matthew and Tara, Steven,
Bobby, Jonathan and Amy, Ryan, Shannon and Daniel. Proud great-grandpa of Patrick,
Brendan, Shawn and Liam. Brother-in-law of Thelma McFarling, Bill McCaig, Theresa
Brennan, Fred Brooks, Len Brennan, Veronica and Harold O'Brien. Predeceased by many
loved family members including his parents Greta and Dave, his brother Ivan and
sister Dorothy McCaig. Bill will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,
neighbours and his Church community of St. Joseph the Worker. Bill loved people and
no one's life was ever the same after meeting him. One of his final 'directives'
was 'Thank all the people!' So thank you to all of you who touched Bill's life by
your kindness and caring. Thank you from Bill! Friends may call at St. Joseph the
Worker Church on Thursday August 4, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral
mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Interment
at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to The
Council for Exceptional Children or Algoma Regional Cancer Clinic/Palliative Care
would be appreciated by the family.
