Joyce McDonald-Pickering (nee Stefansson) passed away, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was called to heaven by the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 in her 70th year. Mom will be sadly missed by her children and their spouses, Rod Pickering (Joanne), Megan Tegosh (Reg), Carrie Rainone (Michael), Mathew Pickering (late Sherry), Russell Pickering (Dawn), Kevin Pickering and Holly Palahnuk (Gene Lanktree). Lovingly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Gaye Brown, late Billy Stefansson and late twin sister Connie Haight. Sister-in-law of Vivian St. Louis. Joyce will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Joyce was a special niece of Edna Smith and friend of Tom St. Pierre (late Sandy) and the late Art Knopp. A private family service will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with Rev. Mike Tulloch officiating. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Easter Seals will be greatly appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the 6th floor nursing staff of the Sault Area Hospital. The family also would like to thank Marnie Morin RN student for her compassion and tenderness shown to our mother and family members. Special patient and friend to Dr. Fratesi and Dr. DeLuco. "Momma" will be forever cherished. She will be sadly missed and will live forever in our hearts.
