(December 13, 1909 - March 11, 2021) - Peacefully at the Ontario Finnish Resthome at the age of 111.
Predeceased by her husbands George Cahoon and Lorne McCool, her daughter Patricia Allan (Pat), her son Ken MacDonald (Liz) and her sister Helen McManus-Harron (Michael and Bernard). Proud grandmother of Wendy MacDonald (late Doug), Sue Elliott (Grant) and Deb MacDonald (Wes) and Joe Allan (Stephanie). Great grandmother of Jordan, Dustin, Derek, Brendan, Elysia, Bryce, Kyle, Kody and John. Great great grandmother of 13.
Emily will also be missed by her sister Helen's children and grandchildren throughout the United States.
Emily was born and raised on St. Joseph Island and worked in the Sault as a store clerk, a practical nurse, a proof reader at the Sault Star and later in business with her husband Lorne at Foch Dry Cleaners. After retirement, Emily and Lorne enjoyed travelling.
A private family funeral service will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association would be greatly appreciated.
