Laura Jean Mark, age 64, unexpectedly entered into rest on August 31, 2024 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on May 3, 1960 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada and lived there for the first half of her life before moving to the United States of America in 1996. She was a daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, wife, mother, and a friend to many.
Laura spent her life as an artist, photographer and creative and spiritual individual, embracing every day as a new opportunity to breathe life into her art from her vivid imagination. You can see her aspirations, spiritual connection to the earth and her vibrant personality in her many beautiful creations. Through the lens of her soul into her artwork, she captured the true depth of her love and admiration for all of life's little moments, beauty and history. Throughout her life, she took inspiration from the world around her in Michigan, Texas and New Mexico. Besides her visual expertise, Laura also enjoyed reading and writing poetry, listening to music and caring for the nature around her through gardening.
Laura's passion for her art only came second to her family, whom she cared deeply for. Together they enjoyed spending time by traveling, watching movies and having home-cooked meals. She enjoyed shopping and many art projects with her daughter, and relaxing with her husband while having a cup of coffee.
Laura was preceded in death by her father James Robert Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years David Jeffrey Mark, daughter Sarah Jean Anne Mark, son Aaron Gravelle, mother Virginia Jean Taylor-Running (John), sister Alison Marie Taylor, brother Donald James Taylor (Ravi), and sister Rebecca Lee Taylor.
