With sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother at the Ontario Finnish Resthome - Mauna Kaihla Koti on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the age of 87.
Reunited with her husband, the late George and her son, the late Bruce. Loving and previous mother of Marilyn Uhlman (Mike), David Makila (Vicky) and the late Bruce Makila (Joanne). Beloved mummu of Dennis Uhlman, Leila Whalen (Ron), Chris Makila (Emily) and Michelle Makila. Great mummu of Cooper Kensit-Uhlman and Miila Whalen. Loving sister of Margaret Oja (Bob). Special friend and aunt of Hannele Park.
Mirja was soft spoken and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved gardening and baking and mom made the best apple and blueberry pies.
In keeping with her wishes there will be a private family service.
We would like to thank Helena McGrath, Dr. Lisa Perry, and the loving and compassionate staff of Mauna Kaihla Koti for their exceptional care during the years mom lived there.
