MAITLAND, Gladys

Peacefully passed away with her family by her side at Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 83.  Beloved wife of the late William Maitland.  Cherished mother and best friend of Donna Liscumb, Victoria Carbone (Mike), late Allan, late Douglas and the late Kenny.  Much loved Nanny of Gerry Liscumb Jr., Michael Carbone, Jessica Carbone, Brandon Carbone and the late Andrew.  Proud Great Grandmother of Ryder Carbone.  Gladys will be sadly missed by Nanny’s baby Pebbles.  Special mother-in-law of Gerry Liscumb Sr.  Daughter of the late Rose and Don Leonard. Gladys is survived by her brothers Robert (Olive) and Roy (Patty), and predeceased by her siblings Gerald (late Claire), Billy (Betty), Bucky (late Pat), Gordie, Betty (late Ed), Gloria (Arnie), Gail, and Mervyn.  Daughter-in-law of the late Thelma and Hector Maitland.  Sister-in-law of Vernon (late Barb), Howard (Sandra), Cora (Ken), Linda, Beatrice (Dale), Betty (Louie), late Gary (Ellen), late Murray and the late Ray. Special thank you to Joanne Cain and the girls from the Adult Day Program F.J. Davey Home, Patty and Becky, the Bayshore Nurses, the staff at ARCH and CCAC, Rhonda from Seniors Mental Health, Dr. Buehner and Dr. Lockman.  A heartfelt thank you to all our special friends who have held our hand through our journey. Friends are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 9 – 10:30 am.  Funeral service held in the chapel at 11 am.  Rev. Laurie Milito officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions made to the Adult Day Program F. J. Davey Home or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
