1947-2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother on January 21, 2025, peacefully at her home in Havilland Bay with her family by her side. Linda will be dearly missed by her husband Bobby and children Toni (Lyle), Rob (Beth) and Dan (Serena). Linda will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Elisha, Charlie, Logan and Ryker, and three great-grandchildren, William, Danni Mae and Emmett. She loved to spoil each one in their own way and often had a house full of sweets to share with them.
Linda was born on May 21, 1947, to Charles and Dorothy Stewart. She is predeceased by her older sister; Judy and they grew up on Lennox Avenue. Her love for slot machines led her often to the vibrant lights of Las Vegas, a place that brought her endless joy and unforgettable memories. Whether she was casting a line into her favourite fishing spot or playing Friday night dice, she lived for special moments with her family. She was a fantastic cook, and her home was often filled with the smell of spaghetti sauce which was the old Madonna family recipe from Calabria. Linda will be missed by many friends and relatives, many of whom called her ‘Aunt Linda’.
In recent years, Linda fought the good fight against cancer. Many thanks to Dr. Vousidakis and Dr. Booth and the fantastic staff at the SAH Cancer Clinic for your gentle compassion during this difficult chapter. Thank you to Dr. LaViolette for your great care and chats about fishing.
In her final days, Mom was cared for by an extraordinary group of nurses. Sierra, Lyvia, and Jodi’s gentle care, heartfelt compassion, and steadfast support brought her immeasurable comfort and serenity in her final days. The family extends their deepest gratitude to these wonderful caregivers for their dedication and love.
As per Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to ARCH (payable online or by cheque).
