MacTavish, Shirley Anne (nee Tulloch)

(Born April 15, 1935) - Shirley passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her son's home in Winnipeg, on Monday November 24, 2014, in her 80th year.   Beloved wife for 54 years of the late Floyd MacTavish. She was the loving mother to their children, Michael and his wife Tara, Richard and his wife Star, and Kevin and his former wife Phyllis. Wonderful Gramma to Katie and her husband John, Melissa, Lane, Krystal and Cedar. Dear sister to the late Nolene and her late husband Orville Warnock, Doris and her late husband Lawrence Behnke, Gladys and her husband Wally Tompson, the late Woody and his late wife Ruby Tulloch, Enid Mahoney and her late husband Ivan Asselin, the late Jim and his late wife Shirley Tulloch, the late Flora and her late husband Bob Dionisi, and Frank and his wife Rita Tulloch. Dear sister-in-law to the late Laura and her late husband Herbert McKay, the late Harry MacTavish, the late George and his late wife Elsie MacTavish, the late Kathleen and her late husband Dougal Grigg, the late Kenneth and his late wife Hazel MacTavish, the late Reta and her late husband James Barrie, and the late Douglas and his wife Margare‎t MacTavish. Also loved by many many nieces and nephews. Shirley was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Tulloch and was born and raised in Iron Bridge, Ontario. On April 7th, 1956, Shirley and Floyd were married in Iron Bridge and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, where all three of their children were born. In 1969 the family moved to London, Ontario and over the next several years called London, Milton and St. Catharines home. In each of those communities Shirley served her Lord Jesus Christ in innumerable ways including organizing neighbourhood bible studies, being active in her church and consistently caring for those that she encountered in her day-to-day life. With her gift of hospitality she made many close and dear friends wherever she called home. In 2007, Shirley and Floyd returned to the town of their youth and built a house on property previously owned by Shirley's parents in Iron Bridge, Ontario‎. It was a dream come true for Shirley to once again live near her four sisters.  The family would like to thank the many home care workers that looked after Shirley both in Iron Bridge and in Winnipeg. You will never know how much you were all appreciated.  The celebration of Shirley's life will be held at the Thessalon Bible Chapel in Thessalon, Ontario, on Wednesday, December 3rd at 1:00 p.m. A time of fellowship will be held immediately after the service. Donations can be made in memory of Shirley to the Gospel Fellowship Church, Hwy 546 North, P.O.
