Peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Friday, January 29, 2021 with his family by his side. Pre-deceased by his wife Dawna Macgregor.

Loving father of Nancy Schildroth (Terry), Murray, David, Robert (Sarah). Grandfather of Mark (Courtney), Leeann (Trevor), Christopher (Chandal), Matthew (Cassandra), Emma and Duncan. Predeceased by his parents the Rev. Duncan and Joan Macgregor. Cousin to Duncan Macgregor (Susan) and Bob Macgregor (Claire). Donald will be fondly remembered by Kelly Macgregor, nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in-laws and many special friends. Although saddened by our father’s passing, we are comforted in the fact that he has been reunited with his beloved “First Lady”. As a father, he taught us all to give more than we take and to do without expecting praise. As a grandfather, he taught his grandchildren to listen to others before they speak and to always be kind. To his family and friends, he was known as a gentle soul who cared deeply for others. He was a proud steelworker who served his community with passion and honesty.

Today we mourn, but we do so with pride. We will miss him but we know that he is watching over us with our mother by his side.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the FJ Davey Home who cared for our father and who have worked to keep us all safe during these trying times. Special thanks to Kerri, Rebecca and Jenn who treated our father as if he was theirs.

Further information about a Celebration of Life will be shared. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522). Memorial donations to the F. J. Davey Home Foundation and the Parkinson Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
