In loving memory of James Roderick (Roddy) MacDonald of Algoma Mills who passed away at the age of 78 on December 16, 2024 at North Shore Health Network, Blind River.
Survived by his sister, Georgena MacDonald, his son Christian Bene, his niece Ayn MacDonald, and cousins in Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island.
‘Uncle Rod’ was a skilled mechanic, heavy equipment operator, pilot, log-builder and master of many trades. He was a storyteller, a born ‘bard’ as a friend said, a protector to his sister and a big brother to many. He was always available to help.
He spent many a happy day with his friends, fishing, hunting, flying and in the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends along the North Shore and beyond.
You will live on, brother, in good deeds and good memories. In the stars and trees and waters and in a world which we mortals do not see and do not yet understand. We only know that you were here, and we loved you.
Friends and family appreciate the support and professionalism of the Blind River NSHN doctors, nurses and staff.
At Roddy’s request there will be no funeral services. Following cremation, and at a later date there will be a Celebration of Life. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
