Revised Funeraweb Service

(December 31, 1928-May 12, 2020) - Earl Duncan MacDonald, passed away in his 92nd year on May 12, 2020, at the Sault Ste. Marie Area Hospital.  Beloved husband and best friend of 58 years to Betty Rae Kenshol. Dearest father of John (Rosemary), Kathy (Roch) Delorme, and Heather, and treasured grandfather of Katie (John), Carolyn (Jacob), Michelle, Julie, Elizabeth and Frances.  Born in MacLennan, Ontario to Peter and Christina MacDonald, Earl is survived by Royetta McGregor (late Alec), Chester (late Mary Ellen), Eileen Headrick and Sarah Bailey (Ron). Predeceased by Melville (late Jean), Cedric (late Margaret), Robert (Late Winnifred), Charles, Stanely (Ilene), Elgin (late Mary Jane) and Peter (late Anne). Also survived by brother-in-law Bill Kenshol (Penny).  He will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.  Earl was a good man, one of great kindness, honor and integrity.  Retired after 40 years at Algoma Steel, Earl was happiest building with his hands whether through welding, woodworking, pottery, or painting.  He loved playing guitar, feeding and watching the birds, and fishing at Crooked Lake.  There was a sense of curiosity about Earl and an unassuming sense of humour as he relished the simple things in life.  Always ready to lend a hand, Earl lived his faith, serving as a Session Member, Security, and Doorkeeper at St. Andrew’s United Church for over 45 years.  His church family will miss his welcoming smile.  In spite of our loss, we will continue to hold Earl in our prayers, carrying a treasured set of memories of a wonderful man.  Friends are invited to view the revised service online, go to www.funeraweb.tv and select Earl's name.  Rev. Eun-Joo Park officiated. Memorial donations (payable by cheque) to St. Andrew’s United Church or Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Tull as well as the compassionate staff at the Sault Area Hospital for all their special care.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522).
