It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden loss of Jamie Michael Lato, who passed away unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the young age of 38.
Jamie was the cherished son of Victor and Wahnita Lato. He was the dearly loved youngest brother of Mark (Kaitlyn) and Paul Lato. He held a special place as the best uncle to Olivia, Ella Lato, Connor Luomaranta, Vayda, and Watson Lato.
Jamie was predeceased by his grandparents, Evelyn and Victor Lato Sr., Shirley Roach-Baa, Betty, and Eric Sucksmith. He will be deeply missed by his special fur babies, Rosy, Nina, and the late Daisy.
With a vast extended family, Jamie held each and every one of you dear — too many to mention individually. Throughout his life, Jamie embraced numerous adventures and created cherished memories alongside his aunts, uncles, and cousins. His infectious sense of humour and radiant smile brought joy to all who knew him.
He held a passion for gardening, sports, fishing, and cooking. Often found relishing life's moments, Jamie could be seen cycling and exploring the outdoors, a testament to his love for nature and animals. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Auntie Nadine Roach, Uncle Gerry, Auntie Donna Rooney, and the Sault Ste. Marie Police for their unwavering kindness during this challenging time.
To all who played a part in Jamie's short but impactful life, we offer our sincerest gratitude. A celebration of Jamie's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made by cheque or online to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
