Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Maple View, on February 23rd 2022, a week after her 90th birthday. Sadie is now reunited with her beloved husband Edmond (1988). Mother of Caroleen (Randy Porter), Ronald (late Diana), Liz (late Randy Lanaway), Jacki and Patricia. Grandmother (Nana) of Geneviève, Alex, Louise, Ian, late Jeffrey, Brittany, Jocelyn, Julia, Jude and Ruby. Great grandmother of Kenny, Charlie and Dimitri. Sister-in-law of late André, late Madeleine Lachapelle, Carmen Ryan (Joe), Aurèle (late Marion and late Jean) and late Pierrette Litalien (Roland).
Sadie was born in Scotland to Elizabeth and Matthew Caldwell and came to Canada in 1953. Her Scottish accent remained strong and was definitely one of her unique features. She enjoyed her years working at Sears in Receiving and then as a tour guide for the Sunshine Travel Club. Travelling brought her much enjoyment.
A sincere thank you to the exceptional staff of Maple View (Twin Lakes) for the care and love shown to mom over the last two years.
Due to covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life and interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will take place in the spring. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice are suggested.
