Passed peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 88 with his loving wife Rita and special niece Nicole by his side.

He leaves behind his wife Rita of almost 70 years, his siblings Leo, Jaqueline and Cyril and sister-in-law Germaine along with grandchildren Patricia and Billie Jo and great grandchild Ryan. Wally will be reunited with his predeceased sons Guy and Roland. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, nieces and nephews.

Wally and Rita started their married life in Blind River and eventually made their way to Timmins where he became a proud manager of a tire shop. There, he and Rita raised sons Roland and Guy. Sadly Guy passed tragically at the age of 16 while Roland passed later at the age of 50. Their deaths left a mark that Wally found difficult to surpass. Despite their profound loss, Wally and Rita found some joy back in Blind River where they built a home, renovated their camp, travelled, enjoyed each other’s company and the many pets they shared through the years - last being their beloved cats Ben and June.

Though Alzheimer’s may have taken away his memories in the later years, we will remember Wally’s love for Rita and his smile when he saw her.

We would like to thank the amazing staff at Golden Birches Terrace for their care and compassion over the past 5 years. We know it wasn't always easy...

As per Wally's request, a private burial will take place at a later date in Blind River. Memorial donations to the NSHN Foundation – Long Term Care (Golden Birches Terrace), the North Shore Health Network Foundation, the Alzheimer Society or an animal shelter of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
