Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on March 18, 2025 at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Mirjam “Mimmi” (nee Heimonen). Loving father of John (Tracy) and Daniel. Proud Pappa of Nathan, Ryan, Logan and Dylan. Predeceased by his parents Juhani and Irinja Lajunen. Pentti is predeceased by his brothers Paul, Leo, Martti and sister Iiris. Survived by his sister-in-law Armi. Pentti will be missed by many extended family and friends in Canada, Finland, Sweden and USA.
Pentti worked for many years at St. Mary’s Paper until his retirement. He was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan. He also enjoyed his time outdoors and spent a lot of time fishing. Pentti was proud to be out supporting and routing for all of his grandkids at their sporting events.
Most of all Pentti was devoted to his Faith, he would attend Church each Sunday.

Family and Friends are welcome to the Life Spring – Finnish Pentecostal Church (891 Peoples Road) on Monday March 24, 2025 from 12 pm until 1 pm. Service at 1 pm. Pastor Clinton Moody officiating. Interment following at Greenwood Cemetery – West Section. In lieu of flowers a donation (payable by cheque or online) to the Life Spring Church, Diabetes Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ontario Finnish Rest Home in his honour.
