June 15, 1944 - March 5, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a "one of a kind" charismatic man. Jean passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 with his loved ones by his side at the Sault Area Hospital.

Left to be remembered with cherished memories, best guidance and advice his four children Laurie-Ann LaBerge, Christine Brock (Ken), Derek LaBerge (Annie) and Jean-Paul LaBerge (Jill). Cherished and loved "Bompa" of Daniel LaBerge (Heidi), Andre LaBerge, Evan Takacs, Chase LaBerge (Emily), Robbi-Lynn Daigle, Jasper LaBerge and Teagan. Great grandpa "Bompa" of Maisie and Molly LaBerge.

He fought a hard battle with health issues the past couple years.  He wanted to be reunited with his mom and dad Albert and Yvette LaBerge.  Loving brother of Barbara Byers (late Tod). Predeceased by his siblings Ted LaBerge (late Lynne), Carmel Masters (late Westley), Fred LaBerge (late Rose) and Yvonne Moreau (late Wayne).  Uncle John will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Our dad had a passion for golfing and made a lot of golf buddies and acquaintances along the way at the Root River Golf Course. He always had stories to talk about. Special thanks to Rollie and the Root River staff for the great treatment he received for the years he was a member. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all that had the pleasure to know him.

The LaBerge family would like to thank the Sault Area Hospital Emergency and Palliative Care Department, Dr's and nurses, especially nurse Shannon, for being at John's "beck and call".  He expressed the excellent care he was receiving and the little chuckles with the sense of humour he had left. Special thank you to Doctor Sarah and the third floor 3B wing nurses for keeping him comfortable.  You were all very professional with our family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donation payable (by cheque or online) to ARCH would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family.

Known for his love of an ice cold Pepsi Cola, he managed to get a few "zips" near the end.
His love for wolves led to multiple pictures and collections around his home. His expression would always be: "Feed me to the wolves ... I will return leading the pack!"

Love you Dad.
