It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt “Lil” peacefully at Extendicare Mapleview on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 86.

Daughter of the late Peter and Agnes Kustura. Dear sister of Margaret and Eva Regan (late Jack). Predeceased by her sisters Dan Kustura and Mary Gaisford (late Mac), and brothers Peter, Walter (late Terry), John (Sandra), and James (late Irma). Cherished by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, past neighbors, and special friends.

All those who knew Lil, knew of her kindness and sweet, generous nature. She was a graduate of Laurentian University and held a long career at Algoma Steel.  She was devoted to her family and loved clogging, casinos, and driving on long car trips. Lil was extraordinarily talented with knitting, quilting, and sewing, and she enjoyed sharing her gifts by teaching quilting classes at the senior’s center with her friends. Her family will forever treasure their homemade mitts, hats, pajamas, and quilts, as her love was threaded into each and every stitch.

Special thanks to all the staff of the Twin Lakes unit at Mapleview for their kindness and support of Lil during her time there. Special thanks also to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home for their care of Lillian during her years there.

Family and close friends are invited to celebrate Lil’s life at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11:30 am until 1:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to the Catholic Education Foundation (Holy Cross Breakfast Program) or ARCH would be appreciated. Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com.
