Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Maude Kahle (nee Thompson). Dear step-father of Colleen Jones (Albert), Michael Brown (Pierrette), Patrick Brown (Debbie) and Dean Brown. Norman will be lovingly remembered by his sister Dianne Jamieson (Gordon) and his sister in-law Dolores. Eight nieces and nephews. Treasured "Poppy" to twelve grand children. Pre-deceased by his brother Gerald Kahle and sister Joan Kauppi (Elmer).
Norman was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie. He was a Recorder and a crane operator at the Steel Plant. He spent his free time as a young man in the local pool halls and bars playing pool and darts where he won many tournaments in both fields. He was an avid poker player, hosting many poker nights and frequenting the local casinos regularly. He was also a major sports fan and followed hockey, baseball, and basketball very closely. Some in the community may have known him as Big Norm. He was an active member of Club 14 where you were sure to find him drinking coffee, supporting other members and socializing.
