Our hero and a man of courage, strength and honor, and who had the most wonderfully unforgettable smile. David Johnson (1943-2013) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the North Bay Regional Health Center on December 15, 2013 at the age of 70. Leaving behind to mourn after a lifetime of love is Patricia (Trudeau) Johnson loving wife of 49 years. Fiercely protective father of Davida (Dee) Johnson (partner Laura) and Tricia (Johnson) Maltby (husband Jordan). Adored Papa of two special grandsons Parker and Bryce Maltby. Gentle and kind son of predeceased Evert and Clarice Johnson of Argo Fay, Illinois. Brother of Anita (Paul) Stoddard (Arizona), Denny (Kathy) Johnson (Arizona), and predeceased by brother Richard (Brenda) Johnson (Illinois). David will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and the United States. He was passionately involved with enhancing the lives of his daughters by supporting their sports and dance. He was an avid coach of ringette, hockey and softball and a true "dance dad" at heart through fundraising, chauffeuring and cheerleading at every performance. He selflessly spent 10 years as the manager of Sault Youth Sports Association downtown bingo hall assisting in fundraising efforts for local sports charities. Although a very busy man, he still found time to spend with his wife and his girls. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Critial Care Unit of the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Cristine (CCU), Natalie (CCU), Bridgette (CCU) and Dorothy (Pastoral Care) North Bay Regional Health Centre. Visitation will be held Saturday December 21st, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm with a service to follow at the Arthur Funeral Home, 492 Wellington Street East.
