It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Theresa Angela Iuliano at the age of 57 on July 20, 2023. Loving wife of 25 years to Arthur Wong, and devoted mother to Anthony and Emily Wong.

Theresa joins in heaven her late father Pasquale Iuliano, and will be greatly missed by her mother Rosa Iuliano, and mother-in-law Pauline Wong (late Frank Wong). She was a dear sister to Sam Iuliano (Pamela Smith), John Iuliano (Ivana Medaglia), and Carlo Iuliano (Rosa Maria Spadafora); and special sister-in-law to John Wong (Mei) and Jane Wong (Paul Honis). She will always have a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews Carmine, David, Jessica, Nicholas, Ida and Rosa Amelia Iuliano, and Robert and Raymond Wong, as well as her godchildren Ryan Coulombe, Sarah Moore, and Sara Churchill.  Theresa will be fondly remembered by her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Sault Ste Marie, Italy, Germany and beyond.

Theresa led a life full of positivity and passion, dedicating each day to expressing the deep love and gratitude she felt for family, friends, and the beauty of God’s creation. She believed that creating, sharing, and learning are the best way to fill your heart and make the world a better place.

Theresa inherited a passion for gardening from her parents, starting her garden from seed each year and generously sharing its bounty of food and flowers with family and friends, and passing on this love of nature to her children. She loved to cook not only because she enjoyed a good meal, but because breaking bread brings people together. She loved to explore the world with Art, the love of her life, to experience its people, vistas, and flavours: together, they ranged across Canada from East (Newfoundland) to West (British Columbia); from Montreal to Sault Ste Marie to be with family; and across many parts of the United States (particularly Boston), the Caribbean, Italy, and India. She expressed herself through her art, capturing bits of beauty in watercolour that she shared with family and friends in the form of cards bearing messages of love and words of wisdom.

Theresa recently retired from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, where she held many executive positions over 30 years, culminating with her role as Vice President of Operations Branch. Her colleagues remember her as a true leader and a generous mentor; someone with vision, passion, and the ability to build a team to achieve great results. Anchored by her deep faith, Theresa channeled the same skills, passion, and dedication into her religious life, contributing to the pastoral counsel at her church and helping fundraise to bring refugees to Canada.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the numerous doctors and nurses of the Ottawa General Hospital who helped Theresa through her cancer journey and to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice for making her last day comfortable.

Family and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Theresa at the Kelly Funeral Home Kanata Chapel, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, ON Tuesday July 25th, 2023 from 6 to 9pm.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday July 26th, 2023 at 11am at St. Isidore Parish, 1135 March Road, Kanata Father Pierre Champoux officiating.  Right of committal prayers will follow at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Cemetery at 1135 March Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Isidore’s Parish or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
