Deborah Anne (Grandmont) passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Beloved wife of Abbie, loving mother of Kristi Coletti and Grandmother (Bubbie) of Kale and Keira Coletti, who brought her great joy and whom she loved with all of her heart. She is also survived by brothers Phillip (Heather), David (Jamie) Grandmont of Sault Ste. Marie, John (Lorie) Grandmont of London and sister, Martha Grandmont of Thamesford. Predeceased by her parents Phil and Jean Grandmont, sister Patricia (Smith) and brother Curtis. She will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Maureen (Eugene) Giardino of Sault Ste Marie, Paul Innocente of Sudbury and Michael Innocente of Calgary. Special aunt to 17 nieces and nephews.

Highschool sweethearts, Debbie and Abbie were married in 1975 and in 1980 welcomed daughter, Kristi. Debbie had a long career as a legal assistant, first for Henry Lang and for many years with Joe Fratesi as his law practice administrator. She finished her career with the Housing Department of the Sault Social Services Administration Board. Debbie was known for her own way of doing things, her big heart and her infectious sense of humour. She could tell someone off one day and get flowers from them the next! She was always there for family and friends in difficult times. Most importantly, Debbie (Bubbie) loved to be with her grandchildren. Whether it was a trip to the Dairy Queen after a hockey or baseball game, a treat after gymnastics or on one of her many trips to London, she loved to be with them.

Abbie and Kristi and their families would like to thank the staff at ARCH Hospice for their care and compassion for Debbie in her final days and her physicians, nurses and care staff at the Sault Area Hospital. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations payable by cheque or online can be made in memory of Debbie to ARCH. Arrangements are entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Innocente family.
