It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth Baillie Howard (Gilfillan) on June 10, 2024. Betty was a loving wife, proud mother, a devoted grandmother, beloved sister and the fun Aunt. The family is taking comfort that she is once again reunited with her husband Wally and together they will be watching over us and joining us on our future travels which was their passion together.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Jim (Nancy), Ann, and Jean (Aaron), and her grandchildren, Max and Morgan, D.J. and Courtney. She’ll be fondly remembered by her sister Ann Marie (Gerry), her nieces Samantha (Adam), Kathaleen (Steve) and her nephews Caleb (Kelly) and Billy.
She is once again reunited with her beloved husband Walter Howard, her parents James and Margaret Gilfillan, her sister Jean McCormick (Bill), her brother-in-law Ronald Howard, and all her aunts and uncles.
Betty was the life of the party, and the best way for us to honour her is to through one final bash to celebrate her life. The family will notify relatives and friends of the details at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Betty would want you to hug your loved ones tight and raise a glass in her honour or take that trip you’ve been putting off.
