At his residence on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, Ewert Houghton of Resthaven Nursing Home, Aurora and formerly of St. Thomas and New Sarum, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Leah Houghton (nee Ketchabaw). Dear father of Roy and wife Susan of North Bay, Ron and wife Mary of Sault Ste. Marie, Donna Steeves and husband Gerald of Venice Florida, Glen and wife Lucille of Markham, Carol Petrie and husband Don of St. Petersburg, Florida, Lee and wife Carolyn of Dunrobin Shores, Jean MacVicar and husband Arch of Nepean, Jim and wife Bonny of Newmarket. Brother of Marian Sypher of Belmont, and brother-in-law of Jean Houghton of Belmont. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter Nancy Leah (1952), brothers Russell and Bruce Houghton, Harold Young and sister Edna Martindale. Born in Malahide Township on September 11, 1913, son of the late Earl and Ellen (Abbott) Houghton, foster son to Ira and Twila Houghton. A private family service was held in Aurora, on Thursday March 11, 2004.
