It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brandon Vincent William Horton on Friday, February 3 ,2023 in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 31 years.

He was born on January 8, 1992, in Sault Ste. Marie and spent most of his years in Nova Scotia, before returning to his birthplace. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by Nadia, his wife of 6 years, and his three stepchildren, Kyla, Jevon and Kitana, as well as his mother Lenora Greer, sister Christine Fluet, nephew Lowen, niece Norah-Lee, Nana, and Uncle Dave. He will also be dearly missed by members of the Chapman family, the Horton family, the Greer family, and his little fur baby, Lexus. Brandon is predeceased by his stepfather Andrew Chapman, paternal grandfather William Greer and maternal grandfather Leonard Horton.

Family was very precious and held the key to his heart, so much so that he wore the ink of his loved ones on his person with a large tattoo on his forearm ‘Familia’. Brandon’s charm and his ability to articulate written and spoken words were exceptional. With his wide smile and precious dimples, he was larger than life. He was spontaneous, caring, quick witted, loving, and mischievous. Brandon had a great sense of humour and took after his stepfather, Andrew, with his silly and goofy antics. Brandon had an affinity for fine food and loved to cook. He was passionate about food and had a flare for creating his own dishes, anything Italian, and a super delicious mean hamburger of his own design. Besides loving children and animals, music, and collections of hats, he loved to draw and sketch in his past time. He enjoyed being outdoors in nature, at the beach, swimming, camping, fishing, hunting and sport shooting. Brandon had many jobs, he was especially proud of his accomplishments as a cook at various restaurants, as an assistant manager of a pet store and the beginnings of his own online business.

His hope was to return to Nova Scotia to be by the ocean and breathe the ocean air… and with that Brandon will be returning back home to be by the ocean that he loved for his final resting place. The family would like to thank the Sisters of Charity, friends, co-workers and family for all their prayers and support during this difficult time. There will be a celebration of life held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for family and friends at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Horton family.
