My precious mother passed away peacefully in her sleep at Mauno Kaihla Koti, on Friday, July 28, 2006 at the age of 94 years. She will be missed more than words can say by her only child Raimo. Martta will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law Marie and her very good friends Elisa and Ossi Koro, Lilja Hiiemaa, her long time friend from the 'Guffin's' days, and her neighbours the Kakelas and many members of the Finnish community who honoured her at her 80th and 90th birthdays especially by the 'Men's Choir'. During her long life Martta made many friends. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Mauno Kaihla Koti. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Raija Perttula officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association would be appreciated by the family.
