HEISKANEN, Kaarlo Johannes

(September 9, 1938 – February 2, 2017) - Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the age of 78. Kaarlo and Kerttu enjoyed 54 years of a loving marriage. Kaarlo leaves to grieve his son Tomi (Jody), daughter Maarit (Nicholas Edy) and 3 beloved grandchildren; Lucas, Alexi and Reggie. Kaarlo was predeceased by 3 siblings and is survived by his brother Sulo (Pirkko) and sister Marja (Juha). Kaarlo will be remembered by family and friends in Canada and Finland. He was a world-class athlete, devoted father and pappa and outdoor enthusiast. He valued his time spent at camp, singing with The Kaleva Male Choir, and in his youth, training for track and field. A private service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre and interment will occur at Greenwood Cemetery.
