The family of Nancy is saddened to announce her passing at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Nancy. Nannygoat. Nan. Mom. Oma. A bonus parent to many, both siblings and grandkids. A partner in crime to her beloved great-granddaughter Dax. Creative and imaginative. Inspirational and aspiring. Adventurer, hiker, and camper. An Oga Mama who could carry 60lbs on her back. Artist with brush, camera, and word. Teacher. Lifelong learner. Collector of words, papers, and beautiful things. A founding member of the infamous circle of eight, known only as The Book Club. Wizard and warrior with a spatula (just ask anyone who dared to sample the goods before dinner!), Oma shone bright when she shared her love of food and family. Even camp meals were rich delicacies. A garden guru and proud Garden Hoe with Nancy Golec and Margaret Siltala. Grower of many things, even the people around her. She excelled in all things mother-like and mothering, yet barely survived hugs and had the sharpest of tongues. Generous and loyal. Strong and tough. Witty and memorable. “The OG”, “The GOAT”.
Predeceased by her loving husband and partner of 59 years James Hall, her older brothers Tom and Bob Vosper and their wives Mary and Pat, and her younger sister Sandra (Clive Giles). Nancy is survived by her daughter Karen Hall, her two beloved grandchildren Lee Rendell (Jake) and Michael Skinner (Pauline Ratelle), and her cherished great granddaughter Dax Marie Rendell. She is also survived by her many close and caring siblings Valerie Leblanc (Michael), Lorna Green (Basil), Sue Vosper (Barry Kingshott), Rick Vosper (Sam), Janet Bye (Barry), Max Vosper (Wendy), and Carol Vosper. She had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews.
“The great memories of our beloved sister will prove to be comforting to us during this sad time, and down the road, for years to come. Nancy was generous and loyal, and made us all feel pretty special. Her Boxing Day parties are legendary. She was from a family of eleven children and was happily involved in keeping all of us on incredibly good terms during our lives. Thank You Nancy! We will always think of you “Weeping in our beers!””.
