GRIMWOOD, Edith Florence (nee Denning)

Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 in her 83rd year.  

Beloved wife of the late Ernest.  Loving mother of Elizabeth Madsen (Ken), Kathryn Howson (Jerry) and Heather Vanderloo (John). Cherished Nana of Melissa Madsen (Amanda), Matthew Madsen, Ashley Howson, Daniel Howson, Johnny Vanderloo, Jesse Vanderloo and Julienna Vanderloo. Proud great Nana of Finnigan, Rae and Gabriel. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Nellie Denning, her sister Eleanora Steeves (late Doug) and her brother Art Denning (late Brenda). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be remembered by her extended family on Lawson Avenue. 

Edith was a very active member of the Nokomis Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a fabulous cook and was well known for her famous shortbread cookies. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and painting ceramics. Edith had a beautiful voice, people enjoyed listening to her sing.  

The Grimwood family would like to thank the Nurses and the PSW's on 3rd Birch Lane at the F.J. Davey Home for their care and compassion, especially nurse Kerri. Also Jeff Orr with the community paramedics. 

A private ceremony will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Columbarium. Memorial donation (payable by cheque or online) to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Alzheimer's Society "Day Away Program" would be appreciated.
