1936 – 2024

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Patrick at the Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Devoted and loving husband of Marisa (Mary Louise) (nee Perlini) for 67 years. She was the love of his life and his very best friend. They did everything together and loved every minute of their beautiful life together. Until the end, they went for their rides to Gros Cap. Precious and loving father of Patti-Anne Garofalo (Tony), Paula and Anthony (Sara). Very proud grandfather of Anthony Garofalo, Alyssa Lake (Jacob), Simona Newton (Cam), Steven Newton (Deniz), Matthew Greco, Justin Germanili (Carolina), and Jamey Dubreuil (Justin). He loved nothing more than being with his great grandchildren, Delia, Amelia, Harrison, Quinton, Juliette, Cruz, Cash and Jack. Dear son of the late Tony and the late Mary Greco. He will be missed by his sisters Doreen Greco and Diane Ramsay (Sandy). Son-in-law of the late Omero and the late Palma Perlini. Brother-in-law of the late Arturo Perlini (Sestina). Special cousin Albert and Bianca DiDonato.

Pat’s priority was his family, his greatest pride and joy. He attended to his children’s every need. Pat visited Patti very often and his words provided so much comfort and encouragement. He always told her “One day you’ll be okay, don’t give up.” Pat enjoyed making Anthony’s daily toast and coffee, along with the post game Blue Jay talk. His visits to London to see Paula and her children were pure joy. He loved to travel his entire life. Pat was a devout Catholic, he loved going to weekly mass, loved his sports (Blue Jays), loved his music, especially Frank Sinatra and Jerry Vale. Through his daily outings, he formed bonds and friendships with everyone he dealt with. That was a great source of happiness and was so important to him.

A special thanks goes out to Sault Area Hospital, to the caring and compassionate 3C team, Dr. Dawson, Dr. George and the two amazing and exceptional nurses Alisha and Korri. A heartfelt thank you to his Nurse Practitioner, Kelsey Kelly.

A private family service has taken place. A special thank you to Father Boguslaw Jaroszek. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or Lupus Canada. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). www.northwoodfuneral.com
