GOODMURPHY, Elwood

In his 91st year, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2017 with family by his side. He is now reunited with his loving wife Helen (nee McGregor). Elwood leaves behind his brother Armand Goodmurphy (late Rita), sister Wilma Heard (late Eddie), sister-in-law Coleen Jones (Dick) and his five children Paul Goodmurphy (Karen), Rita Smith (Ash), Eric Goodmurphy (Colleen), Keith Goodmurphy (Melodie), Carla Coverdale (Tom).  Elwood will be missed by his 11 grandchildren, Carly Goodmurphy, Jason Chornyj, Andrea Turner, Trevor Smith, Jamie Goodmurphy, Kylie Goodmurphy, Aaron Goodmurphy, late Kyle Goodmurphy, Katie Goodmurphy, Cameron Goodmurphy, Lisa Coverdale and the late Scott Coverdale.  A proud great grandfather of 13. Elwood would have liked to say farewell to the many co-workers and acquaintances he made during his 46 years of service as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic, starting his career at Ballentine's then FedQuip, then Crothers and onto Toromont Caterpillar.   Family and friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm.  Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2 pm.  Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to all the Maple View Retirement Home personnel.
