Posted

Born in London England in 1919, Sid Good, former RAF flight lieutenant and district accountant for the Ministry of Transportation (Sault Ste Marie), passed away on July 30th 2006 in Barrie, Ontario. Survived by Dora (Dorothy Mary Bly), his wife of 58 years, and children Ann (Brian LeConte), John (Lorrie), Cindy (Brian Blackburn), and Pauline (John Massicotte). Beloved Grandad to Andrew and Cale Good, Nathalie and Noelle Le Conte-Good, Monique, John and Meghan Massicotte. Some of the highlights of Sid's life were: being trained under the Commonwealth Air Training Plan in North Battleford, Sask; earning the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944 on bomber command; flying British Air Transport Command through the Middle East to India in 1946; marrying Dora and immigrating with her, Ann and John in 1957. He travelled extensively in the U.K., Europe, Ivory Coast, Argentina and India. Until Alzheimer's disease slowed him down, he loved ballroom dancing, camping, bowling and photography. His family was the centre of his universe. Much gratitude to Community Care Access in Sault Ste Marie and especially to Roberta Place of Barrie for their exceptional care. Messages to the family can be sent to [email protected] or (705)-726-2453. Donations can be sent to Roberta Place, Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
