It is with immense sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Doug Godfrey at the age of 67, on March 31, 2022, while holidaying in Texas. He is the loving husband of Kathy Godfrey, very proud Dad of Colleen Johnson (Kirkpatrick), special Dad to Jamie Johnson and best friend to many. Son of Howard and the late Isabella Godfrey, survived by his sisters Sheila Waywanko (Michael), Muriel Richards (late Dal), and brother Stan Godfrey. Brother-in-law of Paul and Linda Taylor, Pat and Loree Taylor, Joanne and Bob Adams, and Chris and Julie Taylor.

Doug was an avid sports fan, a member of the local curling club, golfer and executive member of the “Hack and Slash” golf league. Doug was actively involved with Kiwanis for many years, taking on numerous executive positions both locally and at district.

Doug had a zest for life and an amazing way of connecting with people. Whether out on a golf course, curling, or off on another travel adventure, Doug’s ready smile and friendly demeanour always resulted in meeting new people and making them friends.  Doug will be missed by many, but special thanks to Jim and Jeni Rice, Bruce and Anne LaFleur, Barb Edwards, Maureen and Gary Scott for all your support during this trying time.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Donations to a charity of your choice, in Doug's name would be Welcome (Payable to).
