GIGNAC, Rosie Elena Gignac (nee Clayton) – 1927-2024, affectionately known as Rose aka Feisty Rose, passed away peacefully October 24, 2024, at Sault Area Hospital.

Rose's journey through life was marked by the love she shared with her family. Rose's legacy continues through her children Robert Gignac (Janice), Ellen Alexander, Karen Boyle, Vicky-Lynn Armstrong (Ross), Kenneth Gignac and stepdaughter Janet Aikens (Gerry).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ab Gignac, longtime partner Allan Rousseau, and husband George Lawrence, as well as her daughter Carol, granddaughter Christine, stepson Donnie, son-in law Bill Boyle, and great grandson Tyler.

She was the cherished grandmother of Timothy, Eric, Matthew (Jackie), Paul, Shannon, Sherri-Ann, Cathy (Mike), Robby (Sarah) LesleyAnne (Fred), Daniel, Patrick, and Kenny Jr., GW, Greg (Christine), and Mary (Jon) as well as a proud great-grandmother of Mikaela, Danny, Leah, Connor, Kirstin, Mackenzie, TJ, Emily, Eli, Olivia, Gracie, Jordan, Troy, Sully, Michael, Brayden, Tessa, Dayna, Gerry, Taylor, Jacob, Cameron, Gracie and Jordon. Treasured by many great-great grandchildren.

Rose's life was a testament to her loving, generous, and spirited nature. She poured her heart into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they were the light of her life, and she took every opportunity to express her love and support for each of them. The memories created during family gatherings, and simple everyday moments will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

Rose had an infectious spirit that drew people to her. She was an active member of Legion #374 Richards Landing for 60 years. She possessed a natural ability to make others feel valued and loved, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

Her generosity knew no bounds, as she consistently put the needs of others before her. Rose’s life was not without its challenges, yet she faced each one with resilience and grace. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to her family.

Her legacy of love, generosity, and spirited nature will live on through the stories shared by those who knew her and the lives she touched. Rose will be deeply missed, but we take solace in knowing that Rose has been reunited with her beloved family members who have passed before her and that she will be watching over us.
