GAUVIN, Robin Elizabeth

Gauvin Robin

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robin Elizabeth Gauvin (nee Hammond) on Sunday, March 20th, 2022, at the Sault Area Hospital. Holding space and comfort for her were her dear friend and companion Serge LeBlanc and her brother David Hammond.

Robin is now united with her much loved and only son Jean Paul Gauvin (2018) and her spouse, best friend and soulmate John Watkins (2013). Gil Gauvin predeceases her as do her parents Melvin James Hammond and Marion Elanor (nee McManus). Robin leaves behind her siblings, David Hammond, Jennifer Hammond, Elizabeth Boyko and her nieces and nephews. Robin was predeceased by her brother Brian. She also leaves the siblings and families of her late spouse John Watkins. Her very loving and protective fur baby Cooper misses her very much.

We will always be in awe of the power that can be held in a tiny package. Robin was a spirited and kind woman who loved to laugh. She could find a sparkle in everything. She possessed a keen sense of right and wrong and would be a fierce advocate for those she loved. She was a resilient woman who tackled mountains and took rest in the valleys. Her love, passion, compassion, and friendship will be missed.

Special gratitude to Gwen, her long-time friend who assisted her greatly and talked to her often in her last years and special thanks to Robin's neighbour Wanitta who provided support and company to Robin in these last years.

May you soar with the eagles and run with the wolves. Your dear friend “Doc” is already there.

Donations may be made to the local SPCA (online or by cheque) in Robin’s name. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please visit www.osullivanfuneralhome.com to leave condolences for the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St James Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456).
