Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at NSHN-Blind River in his 79th year. Soul mate and fishing partner of Patricia (nee Proulx) for 58 years. Treasured father of Tammy Folz and Darcy Folz. Grandpa of Ryan and Trevor Labbee, Julie Dann and J.D Fortin, and Kyle, Michael, Emma, Frost, Darcy Jr., and Gunner Folz. Great grandpa of Clara, Tedwin, Tuesday and Forest Labbee and Colby Adair. Loving son of the late John and late Bertha Folz. Fondly remembered by siblings Loretta Pilon (Lou), Mary Schmidgall (late Arnold), Reggie Folz (Sylvia), Janet Devos (late Tim), Carol Lamorie (Gary) and Bunny Baird (late John). Predeceased by siblings Les Folz, Jackie Folz, Anna Rajotte, Hazel Pilon, Doris Wilson and Jean Elapani and brother-in-law Danny and nephew Nyle Proulx. Will be missed by Paul Proulx (Maryanne), Carri-Ann Proulx (Don), Todd Proulx, and Connie Herbrand (Paul). Mike will be deeply missed by his best friend Yvon Beaupre.

Mike made friends easily and was well known to many. He was intelligent, soft spoken and had a gentle nature which made him easy to approach for advice, guidance, and assistance. He had a wealth of knowledge in hunting, fishing, trapping, and all things outdoors. He also possessed a mechanical mind and could fix anything that was broken. People often said…. “if Mike can’t fix it, throw it out!” Brought up in a musically inclined family, he learned to play the guitar and sing. He joyfully played and sang to his grandchildren and others who sat mesmerized by his colourful performances. We will forever miss his dry wit, sparkling blue eyes and genuine smile.

The family wishes to thank the staff at NSHN-Blind River, Acute Care for being patient and making him comfortable.

All who were touched by Mike will be welcome in the spring/summer of 2023 to celebrate his remarkable life. Cremation has taken place.
