January 7, 1931 – July 5, 2023
After a well lived life, at the age of 92, died peacefully at the NSHN-Blind River. Predeceased by all biological family but much loved by his family of choice. He will be missed by the family of Roberta and Elmer Garrett, their children and especially grandchildren Ryan and Avery, along with his good friend Sandra Markle.
A longtime resident of Elliot Lake, Ken was active for many years in the Horticultural Society. His love of gardening can still be seen in many of the community gardens around the city.
Thank you to the staff at Huron Lodge for his supportive care, the staff at Algoma Manor and in the end the nurses and Dr. Amy Vine for their loving care in his last hours. It took a village, but he loved you all.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, beginning at 12pm at Woodlands Cemetery, 5 Ottawa Avenue in Elliot Lake with The Venerable Roberta Wilson-Garrett officiating. Lunch and time to share memories will take place following service.
