Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Domenic. Dear mother of John (Ann), Mario and Michael. Sister of the late Antonio Purificati (Elisabetta). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and friends here, in Italy and France.
Fragola was born on January 25, 1928 in Villa Santa Lucia, Italy to Giovanni and Vincenzina Purificati. She married her husband, Domenic Disano on January 26, 1950. They began their life in Villa, situated in the beautiful mountains of Abruzzo. After some time, like many in Europe who wanted a better life after the war, she joined Domenic in Sault Ste. Marie in 1956. Fragola built a beautiful loving home with her husband and was blessed with 3 children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was the happiest when she was surrounded by all of them.
Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, October 3 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SAH Foundation or St. Gregory's Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
