It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce that Linda DiRenzo (née Gavel) passed away surrounded by loved ones including her three children, Angela, Sandra, James and his wife Laurie, her sister Sharon and brothers Rick, Bill and his wife Mary.

Linda passed away comfortably and peacefully as she leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and dedication to her family and friends. Linda was the beloved wife of the late Rocco DiRenzo for 62 years. She was the proud Grandma to William, Linda, Harry, Frankie, Emily and Noah, and beloved Great Grandma to Julienne and baby Isla who remarkably, were almost all by her side until the very end.

Our Mother and Grandmother remained the heart and soul of our family despite overcoming many challenges, trials and tribulations throughout her life. Without question, she was the backbone and very much the unsung hero of Muio's Restaurant which she and Rocco owned and operated to incredible success for decades; setting its standard of excellence during the peak of its popularity. She loved her life and neighbours on Sussex Road and her time with immediate family at the Camp in Goulais Bay.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Buehner, Dr. Wilson, the wonderful Palliative Care team, Dr. Berry, and the great Renal Team for their compassionate care and support at the end of Linda’s physical journey.

In accordance with her wishes and instructions, there will be no service or ceremony. The decision to forgo a service or ceremony in accordance with her wishes is a poignant reminder of her humility and the importance of the memories she left behind. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

In Linda's honour, we ask that you donate generously to our incredible Sault Area Hospital Foundation and its incredible staff. Donations are acceptable by cheque or online. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the DiRenzo family.
