Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with his daughter, Jane by his side, on Friday June 16, 2023, in his 92nd year.

Predeceased by his wife Jacoba (Cobie). Father of Jane Scarfone (Peter), Joni Silver (Wayne) and the late Stanislaw Ostroski. Grandfather of Jessica Oja (Justin) and Sarah Scarfone and great grandfather of Jordyn and Julianna Oja. Son of the late Andrew and Ledezia Diodati. Buck is survived by his sister Susie Schopp (Eric) and predeceased by his brothers; Joseph (late Shirley), Frankie, Carlo (Judy), Gaetano (Lois) and Tony. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.

Buck had many interests, including vintage cars, radios, clocks, and all things electronic. There wasn't much he couldn't fix. When his wife Cobie missed her homeland in Holland, he built her a beautiful windmill and mounted it on the garage so she could see a bit of home from her kitchen window.

He loved music and poetry, and loved to entertain his young nieces, nephews and grandchildren by reciting poems that he still remembered from his own childhood.  He had a wonderful voice and would sing for family members, frequently leaving musical messages on answering machines and voice mail.

Buck loved to garden and took great pleasure in watching things grow, and once had the highest bean plants in the Sault. He loved to cook delicious meals made from his fresh harvest; his sauce and pepper dishes were legendary.

Most of all, Buck loved his family and friends. He was always there for everyone and was happiest when his house was filled with loud and boisterous loved ones. He enjoyed feeding everyone and the more people ate, the happier he'd be.

Although we miss Buck and are sad at his passing, we can take comfort in knowing he has lived a long and full life and has now been reunited with his love, Cobie, his brothers, and all of the friends and family who passed before him.

And, if Buck should run into his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra, in heaven, he can look him in the eye and say, "I did it my way".

Family and friends may call at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James Street, SSM) on Friday June 23, 2023, from 12:00 pm until the time of service in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow.
